Mr. Jörg Seifert, was born in 1963 in Heidelberg, Germany. He studied law in Würzburg und Göttingen, where he passed the First State Examination. He completed his Referendariat (training as junior barrister) and his Second State Examination in Oldenburg. Jörg Seifert is a German advocate (Rechtsanwalt) and member of the Bar Association (Rechtsanwaltskammer) Oldenburg/Lower Saxony. Mr. Jörg Seifert has rights of audience before all district and regional courts (Amts- und Landgerichte) in Germany.

Since 1995 he is permanently practising law in the Middle East. For three years he was heading the European Section of the law firm of Dr. Hasan Al Mulla Lawyers & Legal Consultants in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. During this period Mr. Jörg Seifert was appointed the official legal counsel of the Austrian Embassy in Riyadh by the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In December 1998 Mr. Jörg Seifert transferred his residence to Dubai, United Arab Emirates and joined the local law firm Al Sharif Advocates & Legal Consultants. Amongst other tasks, his work primarily focuses on catering to the needs of foreign investors in the UAE and the other countries of the Gulf Co-operation Council. In the year 2000 he became a partner in the firm.

Mr. Jörg Seifert has published several articles on selected legal topics related to the countries of the Gulf Co-operation Council (Publications) and he is:

• Board member of the German Business Council Dubai
• Honorary member of the Association of Fellows and Legal Scholars of the Centre for International Legal Studies in Salzburg/Austria

and a member of the following associations:
